2018 In Pictures
Paphos Switch On
In December the Christmas Lights were switched on in Old Pafos. We captured the occasion, and ate pancakes...
Oreites Wind Farm
This, personally, is my favourite picture of 2018. I love the way it looks almost like a painting, to me at least. It demonstrates that you don't necessarily need blue skies or a sunset to take a stunning picture. Cyprus is a beautiful country, especially when it has a lick of green to brighten it up. We may be wearing jumpers and Wellington Boots at the moment, but we get to see a beautiful Cyprus because of it.
Dam Busters
The winter rain had brought not only green to Cyprus, but also turned dried up streams into raging torrents. When this happens, there is only one sensible thing to do: build some dams.
However, we also saw a Skink. I have never seen one before, so I thought I would post the picture of the skink, rather than our rather spiffing dams.
From Simou To Polis
Our final blog of the year took in some stunning scenery. We live in a beautiful country and should treasure it and count our blessings.
So that was 2018. Didn't it just fly by? We missed out loads of blogs, but we couldn't cover them all in a summary. Just remember that you can use the BLOG option in the menu above to explore them at your leisure. While you are looking at the blogs, please look at the banner ads that appear as well. Those companies pay for the running of Paphos Life, and allow us to continue our work. So thank you to the following:
Platinum Advertisers
Gold Advertisers
Seasonal Gold Advertisers (monthly)
OldPafos.com Gold Advertisers
(A gold banner ad gets seen over 100,000 times a month. If you have a business, take a look here.)
Also thank you to the businesses who pay for enhanced listings in our directory.
We have more exciting stuff planned for 2019, including new blogs, a new webcam or two, a new virtual tour of Kato Pafos, and who knows what else? Stay tuned...
We would also like to thank the following people who have helped on our main forum:
HappyInCyprus - thank you, Lloyd, for all your contributions to the Caritas appeal, and the films and photographs you took of their events.
Max - thank you for the guest blogs.
Jim Cross - thank you for the continued use of your webcams.
Memory Man - thank you for all the quizzes you have done. I did a Christmas Quiz a few days ago, and now appreciate just how hard they are to organise!
Houdinibun - that's Alex, my wife. Thank you for coming on board!
And a BIG thank you to all the people who contribute to our forum, to our Facebook Chat Group, and who use the business directory and like and share our blogs.
Happy New Year To You All, see you all in 2019!
