Riccos Beach Bar
We are now coming to the bar that gives the area its nickname. Riccos Bar has been here since the 70s, and pretty much predates the beach itself.
Closer
By happy coincidence, Jean Stone has posted a lot of pictures of the bar on our Paphos Chat Facebook group. They are worth tracking down as they include shots of the man himself and the bar back when it was first built.
Geroskipou View
Between Riccos Bar and Paphos the landscape becomes a bit more maintained. There is some sort of football pitch here, as well as a grass field.
Artificial Reefs
They are keen on recycling here too. There is also a sign explaining about the artificial reefs in the area, which make the seas here a safer place to swim. Not seen in this picture, but to the side there was a NO DOGS sign as well.
Fair Play
This lady certainly wasn't going to let a bit of seaweed spoil her sun-worshipping. In fact, she used it as a cushion.

The other day I went out to photograph some of the beaches around Paphos. We have a beaches directory and I figured it needed some more up-to-date images. However, it soon became apparent that the beaches are still getting prepared for the Summer Season. So while the pictures I took won't be suitable for the directory, I thought you might like to see what's occurring. In this article, we take a look at Riccos Beach Area, in Geroskipou.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
