From Polis to Limni Pier
While the weather isn't quite what we would like yet, you can still have fun on an afternoon stroll. Today we visit the area between Polis Municipal Beach and Limni Pier. How does it look now that Spring is here?
Polis Municipal Beach
The beach at Polis has been hit hard by the winter rains. We took these pictures a couple of weeks ago, and you can see where a river has rampaged through the normally-serene sands.
All Is Calm
In fairness to Mother Nature though, the temporary river does add a bit of charm to the scene. Perhaps they need to make a drainage pipe to protect the sand from future downpours?
No Sunset
When we set out, we were hoping for a nice sunset, but unfortunately, on this particular day, there was a lot of dust in the air.
Polis Beach Bar
Apparently there are attempt to get this place replaced with a different beach bar. Whenever we've used it the food has always been reasonably priced and fresh though, so I don't think anything needs to change personally. The staff are friendly too. We were once being bothered by flies so they got some Cyprus Coffee in a little plate, and set fire to it. The flies hate the smoke, and we ate our food unmolested by insects. I have since used this trick myself and it definitely works. The coffee has to be Cypriot, fresh and unused though.
I should also point out that the bar is closed at the moment. When it is open it looks more presentable than this.
