Vretsia Valley

Now this is a tough one. You will need a 4x4 to explore this area properly, and the nearest tavern burnt down a couple of years ago, so you will need to bring your own refreshments. However, you aren't a million miles away from a secret swimming hole, so bring your costume and a towel and get ready to cool off.

Here I Am:

Vretsia sits at the edge of Paphos Forest, at the top of the Xeros Valley. This view overlooks the valley towards a nature reserve, where they released Russian Eagles a few years back.

The road to the Xeros River from here can be tricky, even with a 4x4. The winter rains have made it even more treacherous, so do be careful. If you make it to the bottom you will probably have to park your car, for the time-being at least. Most of the road by the river has been washed away. If you head left on foor though, you will eventually get to Roudia Bridge, but not before passing a lovely, secluded pool in the river, complete with a rope swing. If you have had a hot journey getting her, you know what to do now...
