Kritou Terra - Part 2
Very Nice

This is a lovely house. We actually met the owner while we were walking past, and had a nice chat with him. This shows just what can be achieved if these properties are looked after.

Religious Mural

I saw this mural on one wall. I wonder if it had anything to do with the residence of Archbishop Damaskinos that was mentioned on the sign we read in Part 1?
Anyway, we have reached the far side of Kritou Terra now. There are a few more houses to go, and after that there is a lovely drive down to the B7. But we now want to turn our attention to the tavern. It isn't open yet, but it is still worth a look around.
The Tavern

We have just walked through the entrance of the tavern you saw earlier. Turn round and look up.
Smashing Plates

It looks like they have used lots of old plates to make a jumbo mosaic on the wall. It looks very nice and is a taste of the delightfully eccentric decor you will find here.
Tavern Grounds

That is an interesting place to park a bicycle.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
