As I was flying the drone, I thought I might as well film the surrounding area too.
Droushia Reflections
I was trying to get a nice reflection shot with this little reservoir, but I couldn't quite get the angle.
Droushia Rocks
I made a film of the roadworks, which I will post later. I also made a film of the rocks in the area. However, the weather really wasn't very nice, and there was a lot of dust in the air, so I probably wont bother posting it. Here are a couple of pictures though.
Apparently, the reason for the large quantities of dust was because of a volcanic eruption in Greece. This makes a change from the usual causes, of dust from the Sahara or Syria.
This landscape reminds of of Dartmoor. If you are from the UK and ever get homesick, going for a walk in these hills will give you a little fix of Blighty.
As to the roadworks, I have no idea how long they will be in place, but thanks to the reasonable diversion that doesn't really inconvenience anybody, I doubt they are in a huge hurry to finish it. Siga siga!

B7 Roadworks Get Serious
A few years ago part of the B7 above Giolou collapsed. It was repaired, then promptly collapsed again after the next rainy season. It was due to be repaired again, but thanks to Civil protests at the prospects of total road closure, the road instead sprouted a dent which avoided the collapsed area. Now, finally, the repair team are back with a vengance, and this time they mean business.Related Pages
MapDroushia Roadworks
The roads between Paphos and Polis tend to suffer from erosion. Perhaps it is due to the gypsum in the area? The B7 was recently reinforced above Giolou, for the third time in recent years. Similarly, the Kathikas-Polis road has had problems below Droushia - and been repaired - on what is almost an annual event. This time it looks like they took lessons from the B7 work. As our drone shots will show, they appear to be making substantial enhancements to the road now.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
