Chrysochou Cemetery
It was nice to see that the cemetery is still intact, and being maintained. It was a very peaceful place, to me. I don't know why but I find most cemeteries to be like that. I guess it is because death is the great leveller. After that we are all equal, so there is no room for any anger or stress. Just peace and calm.
I like the simple approach to the headstones. Some of them do still have inscriptions on too, showing date of burial.
Back in 2018
I think this is the start of the copse we saw earlier. It is amazing what grows in 8 years!
This person did just before the outbreak of WW2. I wonder what their life was like? Fascinating to imagine that it represents an entire lifetime similar to my own in so many ways, with all the hopes and dreams and tragedies and triumphs that occur on your own journey. This stone says that somebody lived, and then died. It doesn't claim anything more than that, and I can't even read what their name was. But I hope they had a nice life, and are resting in peace.
Spring Blooms
Meanwhile, in the field next door, the Spring flowers were beginning to bloom. Nature always puts on a good show.

The Paphos Countryside is a hidden gem, and outside the activity radar of many tourists, which is a shame. The other day we paused on the way back to a trip to the local Recycling Centre to take in the scenery, at one of our favourite viewpoints.
