Fool's Gold

Sooner or later as you explore the area you will find boulders made up of iron pyrite. Again, photographs don't do this stuff justice. It really sparkles beautifully in the sunlight.

In case you didn't know, Iron Pyrite (or Fool's Gold) is the commonest sulphide in nature. This explains the sulphur smell I reported earlier.

If you visit the area, you will no doubt want to take home a couple of samples. HEED THIS WARNING:

If you put an Iron Pyrite rock on a nice patio and it rains, the rock will bleed a golden brown rust that will stain your patio. It won't do it after 6 months, but as soon as it spots a rain cloud.
