The problem with photographs is that you don't necessarily get the concept of scale. So in this shot, I have put my mobile phone down on the top of the aquaduct. You can see how narrow it is at this end, compared to the thick wall further along.

The actual water track is about the same width as a drain pipe.

I wonder what the original Roman aquaduct looked like? Anyway, lets go across to the other side and see where the aquaduct comes from.

You can see where the aquaduct continues upstream, along its much shorter course.

It's an impressive build, and you can appreciate once again how narrow it is at the top.

From here the aquaduct trundles through the countryside. It is now little more than a small, raised ridge.
