The Xeros River Flows!
Distant Abandoned Desalination Plant
We are getting closer to the sea now. That big white building you can see in the distance is the old abandoned desalination plant we blogged about some time ago. It will be interesting to see what it looks like now.
Main Road
We had been following a farm track but were quite pleased when it joined this larger road. There are a lot of speed bumps along here, and I can only presume they have been plagued with boy racers in the past.
Dead End
When we reached the gate to the desalination plant we could see they were locked. To be honest I was expecting this. I knew we wouldn't be able to go left of the plant, but thought there might be a route to the right. Unfortunately, there wasn't so to get to the sea we would have to retrace our steps, and go the route we came when we went to see the ancient Olive Factory.
Distant Wind Farm
There was a nice view of the wind farm from here though.
Ancient Olive Press
Anyway, some time later, and we find ourselves near the old Olive Factory. It's still looking good. It is a short journey from here to the sea-end of the desalination plant.

It looks like the sun is here to stay now, and Cyprus is quickly turning brown. The Asprokremmos is no longer overflowing, and soon, the rivers will no doubt start to run dry again.
