Peace 2 Peace Exhibit Again
Magnificant

This building seemed majestic to me. Clearly abandoned since the 70s, it nonetheless maintains an air of dignity.
Looking Back at the Patchwork

As we walked past the ruined shop, we couldn't help but glance in the window. We photographed an old poster on the wall, which presumably promoted Keryneia, a city in the north of Cyprus, as a holiday destination.
Storeroom

Another old shop had become a storeroom, and accumulated assorted belongings and knickknacks from the last 40 years.
Residential Area

Beyond the shops we came into a residential area. The roads looked like they had all recently been laid. I'm not sure what the metal structures at the side of the road are supposed to be though. In places they have clearly been flattened, so are not very robust.
Lovely House

We had to stop and admire both the paintings on the wall and the fine vines.
One thing we love about Paphos, and Cyprus, is that you can take off in any direction in a city and wander around without any fear of being intimidated or mugged. In a lot of cities, if you wander off the beaten track, especially if you are carrying a camera, you will be considered fair game. In Paphos, people just look a bit surprised, and grunt a "yassas" at you if you make eye contact. Sometimes they will try and have a chat, though our language skills let us down there. Imagine that happening in London!

It's been a few months since we last reported on the progress of the Old Paphos Regeneration Scheme.I had to visit the main Cyta Shop recently, and as I had time to kill I decided to take my camera for a stroll, to see how things were progressing. Autumn was in the air and the skies were fairly grey. There was even some rain at some point. However, the pictures will still hopefully show what a wonderful place Old Town Paphos is becoming.
