Venus Beach Has Come Of Age
Hidden Beach
It is not all rocks along this particular part of the coastline. This is Vrexi Beach. In the past the area around it used to be a local dumping ground. I went swimming there once, and saw a LOT of long-spined sea urchins on the rocks underwater, as well as a rather large conger eel which made me beat a hasty retreat!
King Evelthon
The boardwalk gets a bit rustic for a bit after Vrexi, before smartening up again when it reaches the King Evelthon Hotel.
Akti Beach Hotel
Next to the King Evelthon you will find the Akti Beach Holiday Village.
Akti Beach
The beach itself it tiny. You can see the steps leading down to it in the centre of the picture. To the left there is one of the many outdoor gyms on the boardwalk.
And Finally...
Beyond the gym the path loops around and up the coast to Dimma Beach. From there you will go past Badger Bay and a number of other tiny little coves, before arriving at St George's Beach in Chloraka. But we shall finish here.
Venus Beach has come a long way in a short space of time. Let us hope the new buildings still allow for plenty of public parking space, and don't interfere with what is an impressive achievement.
