Paphos Celebrates Green Monday
Coast Path Kite Flying

This chap was getting into the spirit of things though. Mind you, if you take a peek at the bin to the left it looks like somebody else tried but gave up in frustration.

Geroskipou Beach

In terms of people out having a good time I didn't think anything was going to top St George's Beach, but that was until I reached Geroskipou Beach. Even before I got there I could see the Luna Park carpark was full, which is highly unusual. The road along the beach itself was chockablock.
Far End

This is from the Eastern End of Geroskipou Beach, looking back towards the sands, and the rest of Paphos. At this point I repositioned the camera on the roof of my car, so that when I drove back down the road it was pointing towards the beach. You can see this in the film which should hopefully have uploaded by tomorrow. The last couple of shots are taken from that footage.
Multi Level Parking

I wonder how the parking works here? Do friends meet up and block each other, or do random strangers run the risk of getting stuck? This is why I always recommend insuring you have an exit strategy when you park at a busy event in Cyprus though.
Happy Green Monday!

And that is how the Cypriots celebrate Green Monday. They appear to steer clear of the main tourist beaches, and head for their own favourites. Why don't they flock to Coral Bay and the other ones? I have no idea. Perhaps they prefer the ones they are familiar with? Perhaps they don't want to run the risk of damaging the precious sands that sustain the tourism industry? I don't know. But it is lovely to see so many of them out having fun.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
