More New Signs
At the top end of the Sea Front, the festival finishes. I guess they couldn't go any further because of the temporary road from the back of Paps. Look at the signs above the restaurants here though. Most are recent additions, after the great sweep they performed earlier in the year.
One Final Stall
The corn on the cob they sell at these festivals is actually delicious. I had avoided it for years, but bought one one year on a whim, and was hooked. Much tastier than I expected, and a lot more healthy than candy floss!
Work In Progress
Here's a quick update on the roadworks behind Paps and the surrounding area. They are definitely making progress.
Firm Favourites.
I thought I would include a picture of two favourites among visitors. Both Tea For Two and Pingouinos are very popular places to eat, with good reason.
Come On Down
When I took these pictures the weather was fairly miserable. It is now Sunday evening, and it has been a lovely sunny day. The forecast for next week is sunny with a bit of cloud, apart from Thursday when heavier cloud is forecast. No rain is expected. So why not head to the sea front tomorrow? If you are early enough you may even see the event with the crosses being thrown into the water. And you don't have to go to Paphos. There will be similar events throughout the whole of Cyprus.

Paphos Kataklysmos Celebrations
Kataklysmos is a big deal in Cyprus. The whole island celebrates with water festivals, traditional events and numerous other activities. Traditionally the biggest celebrations occur in Larnaca, though every town and city does their bit. Paphos is having its own celebrations, and the Sea Front is teaming with stalls selling allsorts. Over the next few days there are also performances to be enjoyed at Paphos Castle. We went down to the Sea Front to join in the fun.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
