Cyprus In Pictures - July 2023
Life Imitating Art

I like this shot, it shows two boys fishing in the waters next to the famous Fishboy statue. In the background you can see the Municipal Baths.

Ayia Napa Beaches

At Ayia Napa they take their sunbeds really seriously.
Paphos Sea Front

This shot shows some of the new seating that is being installed at the Sea Front.
Coral Bay

When we used to visit Cyprus on holiday, before moving here, we regularly went to Coral Bay. We always went to the left-hand end.
Ayia Napa Marina

Now this shot was a surprise! It is a drone picture of the tower at Ayia Napa Marina. A lot of people posted criticisms of the tower. They were very vocal, which to be quite frank is bloody annoying. When we post a Good Morning picture, it is just a way of saying Hello and spreading a little bit of cheer. If you don't like a particular picture, just ignore it, or block our page. Posting moaning criticism about the subject matter is pointless. All it does is annoy us. It won't have any effect whatsoever on future building plans in Cyprus. If you want to actually vent your fury, find the appropriate Municipality Facebook Page, and vent on there. Something might actually happen then. I doubt it, but at least you are now moaning on the right page.
And one final point, though there were lots of critical posts, the picture itself turned out to be the most popular picture we have ever posted. These are its Facebook viewing stats, as of 2nd August 2023:
- Loves: 739
- Surprised: 98
- Sad: 26
- Love: 13
- Angry: 12
- Funny: 4
So the picture was seen nearly 1.5 million times, and received almost 8000 likes and loves. Clearly not everybody hates it!

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
