Review: Curry House (Takeaway)
The other evening we had been swimming at Geroskipou Beach, and fancied picking up a takeaway curry on the way back to Polemi. The nearest was Curry House, in Kato Paphos, and this is was our experience...
The Restaurant
Curry House is actually an Indian Restaurant. They also do takeaways though, which is what we are after. Indeed, they have set up a dedicated Takeaway outlet in Chloraka called Curry In A Hurry. But today we visited their Kato Paphos Branch. There is a map below showing exactly where it is, but you basically go along the main Sea Front Road until you get to the junction outside the Almyra Hotel, then head inland. The restaurant itself seemed very nice, and we were ushered to an outdoor area where we could peruse the menus.
Our Order
We were told when we were ordering that it would take half an hour. It actually arrived a bit quicker than that. Often when we order a takeaway we are told it will be 15 minutes but it takes a lot longer, so this wasn't an issue and it was nice being given the correct information from the outset.
Of course, you can order online, but when we looked we couldn't find a full menu. So we arrived expecting a wait. We were offered drinks etc but we weren't thirsty so just sat watching the world go by and playing on our phones.
Our order came to the following:
1 Chicken Korma with Pilau Rice and Plain Naan
1 Chicken Korma with Pilau Rice and Garlic Naan
1 Chicken Jalfrezi with Pilau Rice and Keema Naan
Chicken Jalfrezi
They also gave us a couple of poppadoms, but they got eaten on the way home! Anyway, I ordered the Chicken Jalfrezi and it was very nice indeed. We had to use the big plates for the food, because the portions were decent. I finished mine but was stuffed at the end of it. The Keema Naan was lovely too.
Chicken Korma
The ladies both had a Korma, and there's was delicious too. Alex thought her naan was the nicest she had had in Cyprus.
Location, Location, Location
This map shows you where Curry House is. They can be reached on 99 864607. The food is of a very high standard. Price-wise, they aren't the cheapest Takeaway option. Our order came to just over 48 euros, which is a little steep for a takeaway curry. However, we were buying it from a premium location so I guess there is that to bear in mind. The food itself was top notch though.
