The Motorway Is Coming
Site Office
On the other side of the road, there is a turning that takes you to Tsada. Next to this road they have built the site offices for the project. As you can see, it is not a place to go exploring.
View From The B7
Now we have driven to the B7, and are parked in the big layby just before the Microbrewery. From there I walked into the vineyards and launched my drone again. I didn't want to launch it from the layby as it would be a distraction to drivers. I also had to take care to steer clear of the pylons that run through the valley. Hence the reason you aren't getting a close-up here.
Stroumpi Heights
Driving up to Stroumpi, you can see another access route has been constructed along the hill to your left.
Motorway End
At the top end of Stroumpi, the motorway will cut across a farm track before descending onto the B7. There is a lot of gypsum around here and I hope they account for that when they buld the new road. Otherwise they will have the same sort of problem they had with the B7 further down the hill just outside of Giolou.
Final Destination
I don't know when the second part of the motorway will be constructed. It will be a tight fit squeezing it into the existing valley, if it is to run alongside the B7. But that will have to be the topic of another blog.

The Paphos to Polis Motorway - Part 1
A new motorway is coming to Paphos. It will link the existing A6 motorway to the North West coast of the island, reduce travel time, and aid congestion on the B7. That's the plan, anyway. Alternatively, it will destroy precious natural areas and be an expensive waste of money. We decided to take a look at the proposed route for ourselves, so now at least you will know exactly where the motorway will go. Possibly. The Paphos to Polis Motorway - Part 2
It's time for the concluding part of our look at the planned route of the new Paphos to Polis motorway. So join us as we take a bumpy trip from Minthis Hills to Stroumpi, climbing a mountain along the way to enjoy the view...Good Pages To Visit
