In the final part of our look at the Paphos Cliffs, we uncover an Archaeological Site, along with some not-so-archaeological digs.
Universal Heights
You get a good view when you are climbing up and down these cliffs. I took several similar pictures during the course of these blogs but I like this one the most. I wonder who owns that field over there? Must be worth a fortune.
The Route Up and Down
The cliffs are harder to navigate in this section. Rather than traverse them I had to return to ground level and move along that way.
More Mystery
Moving along, I knew there was something interesting up there. However, I was due to pick somebody up in a while, and I wasn't sure how long I would be up there. So I left it alone for the time being, with a view to returning later.
Building Site Ahead
The cliff exploration was coming to an end, as the area ahead was in the process of being developed.
New Builds
Paphos is a growing city. One of the things that struck me when I first drove through it was how varied it was. I could drive down random roads and one minute I would be surrounded by shops, the next minute I would be by a farm. It is still like that in some areas, but it is understandable that the inner fields would get built on one day.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
