Seven Days In Paphos
Top Deck

To get to Chantara Falls, you need to find your way to the village of Foini. If you stay on the road above the village you will see the waterfalls signposted. The road to the waterfall has been improved recently though it gets rough the closer you get.
Once there, by all means have a look at the waterfall, but pay attention to the steps to the right of the main pool. Follow them and they will lead you to the next section of the waterfall. This is a bit more impressive.
If you have decent footwear and a lust for adventure, head to the left of this waterfall. You will see a couple of vines which will allow you to climb up the side of the cliff. Don't worry, it is a lot easier than it sounds, and well worth it.
End Of The Line

Once you have climbed above the falls, you can follow the river upstream. It is a great route over rugged terrain. Eventually though, you will reach this point. By all means, use the rope to climb the falls. But beyond that, the route is for serious climbers only.
Sinti Monastery

The drive from Foini back to Polemi is very picturesque. We went via Agios Nikolaos and across the Diarizos Valley to Arminou and Salamiou. From there we took the signposted route down to the Xeros Valley, to say hello to this old friend. I love visiting Sinti Monastery. There is something incredibly peaceful about it.
Inside

It is a great place for silent contemplation.
Agios Nicolaos Galataria

From Sinti Monastary we could have driven straight up to Pentalia, but I chose to take a slight detour to visit this little church on the side of the Xeros Valley.
