Polemi Concentration Camp
The Inside
The main building is not that big, and it will only take you a few minutes to explore. Let's take a look around.
Inmates
I first saw pictures like this when I visited Tuol Sleng in Cambodia, back in the 90s. Fortunately, this museum, and the history behind it, is nothing remotely like the horrors of that place.
Artifacts
The main display cabinet was covered in a Greek flag. There were a few artifacts contained within it, but more interesting was the paperwork on top.
List of Detainees
There is a list of all the prisoners who were detained here. A few years ago, somebody had added their name to the bottom of this list, incorrectly assuming that it was a museum visitor book. Please don't do that if you visit here. That is not what it is there for.
Distant Stroumpi
This drawing of the camp shows, I think, Stroumpi in the distance. the important thing to note is the abundance of tents.

A couple of days ago I was up bright and early running some errands, and I couldn't help but notice the beautiful sunrise. Naturally enough, I took some pictures, and this put me in the mood to take some more snaps as I carried out my chores...Polemi Sunset
Polemi isn't known for it's sunsets, well, to us at least. They are normally the domain of the coastal areas of Paphos, and Max's house. However, this evening, the Gods smiled on us, and granted us a lovely sunset. The photos can provide a brief, fitting epilogue to our last blog, Polemi Sunrise.Polemi Rain
The winter storms are back with a vengeance. Polemi had 46mm of rain overnight, and it showed this morning. Our webcam presented a sorry picture, but I was curious to see what was happening in other parts of the village...Good Pages To Visit
