A Taste Of Things To Come
This workarea has steadily been shuffling up the Sea Front. I guess they are correcting some error in the paving, but I have no idea what.
European Capital of Smart Tourism - 2023
Cor! As if being the European Capital of Culture back in 2017 wasn't enough, 2023 sees Paphos propelled to the lofty heights of being the European Capital of Smart Tourism. I saw a similar sign near Kennedy Square yesterday.
Men At Work
Progressing up the Sea Front, you will soon notice that things are not as they were. It looks a lot barer, and there are workmen everywhere.
No Shop Signs
All the Shop Signs appear to have been removed. I have no idea what regulation they broke but how are shops supposed to advertise who they are without a shop sign?

This is how it looked a week ago. Look! Even the sky was more colourful.

Paphos Harbour Walkway Maintenance
Recently the Mayor Of Paphos announced numerous contracts for improving the sea front and harbour area. The contracts were not only for the introduction of new facilities though. Some of the money was allocated for maintenance and upkeep of the existing facilities. It's all gone a bit critical down at Paphos Seafront. The shopfronts have had a lot of their frontages removed and it is currently in a bit of a pickle. What are the long term plans? Who knows, in this article we just want to survey the scene.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
