Paphos Old Town Market Has A New Roof!
The Old Town Market has a new roof! The walkways are now once again shaded, and shoppers can once more shop in comfort. We took a walkaround, so you can see for yourself what the new roof is like.
Blue Skies Over Paphos

A few years ago the roof of the Old Town Market was removed. This was a shame, as I loved the old one, which reminded me of a Victorian Covered Market that you would find in a provincial English town. Also, the lack of shade meant that a profusion of umbrellas had to be hoisted to keep customers cool in the summer months.
Well, a new roof has appeared, so we thought that it was about time we returned to Old Paphos to take a look. We begin our adventure on the ringroad as it skirts the front of the plateau that a lot of the Old Town rests upon.
Cafe Culture

Looking around, we could see lots of cafes and restaurants serving people with a mid-morning snack or a refreshing drink. This is the artisan cafe opposite Cafe Nerro.
Italian Cafe

This little cafe looked popular, and very photogenic.

And doesn't the area look nice and clean? Ok, so there is still the occasional building work dotted around, but Old Town has really scrubbed up nicely.
Tourist Information

Speaking of Building Work, it wasn't that long ago that the bar in the centre of this picture was a vacant, dusty lot. This is what the end product looks like, and it is lovely. Oh and the Tourist Information Centre is right next to it. Pop in there if you want assistance or have any queries. They occasionally do guided tours of Old Paphos and they will be able to tell you when the next one is.
