Paphos Coast Path - Part 1 - Geroskipou Beach to St Nicholas Chapel
Chapel View

There is however a more direct route, which takes you through some archaeological ruins. When I record the films, I do them in stages. After each stage I return to the start in order to move the car further along the route. While I am returning, I take pictures for articles like the one you are now reading. In this instance, I returned by the archaeological site path.

Hidden Ruins

They have excavated a number of foundations in the archaeological site. There is still a lot more waiting to be dug up though. You can see piles of rock half-buried by centuries of dust. If you do wander through here though, don't go looking for souvenirs. That will land you in serious trouble!
Excavated Area

This shows some of the ruins that have already been dug up. If you walk next to this wall you will see a lot more. It is no Tomb Of The Kings, but if you like Archaeology you may find it interesting.
Towards Paphos

The two paths merge back together here, in front of St Nicholas Chapel.
St Nicholas Chapel

And this is the chapel itself. I did a small virtual tour of it a few years ago. You can view it by clicking here if you want. I will show you a couple of pictures inside though.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
