Paphos Blue Flag Beaches
Water Sports

There are a lot of water sports available here.
If by chance you arrive at the carpark, and the two Pachyammos beaches are full, there is also a municipal beach directly in front of the car park. That isn't a blue flag beach. There is nothing wrong with it, but we first wanted to put all the Blue Flag beaches in the directory. We will add non-Blue Flag beaches at a later date.

Vrysoudia A Beach

I would say that Vrysoudia A is the main municipal beach in Paphos. It is certainly centrally located, and has excellent facilities. There is a car park above it, which is accessible from the main road. Now, in the past, traffic wardens have been a rare sight in Paphos, so you might be tempted to avoid the Pay and Display metres. However, while we were preparing this blog, we must have seen traffic wardens at all of the car parks. So make sure you get a ticket. It is only a couple of euros and will save you an annoying fine.
If you are not sure where the car park is, look at the map in the directory entry.
More Sand

This is another sandy beach, which also has an artificial reef (you can see it in the previous picture), making swimming safer, and snorkeling more fun.
Keep Your Beach Tidy!

We saw these in a number of beaches, and they are a good way of keeping cigarette butts off the beach. We also saw evidence that they were being used to make sand castles.
Vrysoudia B Beach

If you walk past Vrysoudia A, you come to Vrysoudia B Beach. This is smaller and more secluded than its neighbour.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
