Kouris Reservoir
Long Range Zoom Shot
This shot shows it a bit more clearly. Don't worry though, we will get closer. There appears to be a bird on top of the spire.
While We Are Here
The hill we drove up is the same one that houses the tragic old abandoned ranch. We popped again to see how it was declining.
Shattered Dreams
Even more fixtures and fittings have been stripped. There used to be railings here.
Reasons to be Tearful
If you have missed our previous blogs on this abandoned ranch, here's a summary. Until about 20 years ago, this was a functioning Appaloosa Ranch. It was owned by a wealthy family, and run by their son, who died in a tragic accident. The parents wanted nothing more to do with the place, and sold the horses off. The ranch itself was left to the elements, and the local population. It is now slowly getting stripped of anything vaguely useful.
For further info on the ranch, see the blog links at the foot of the page.
Multi-Coloured Lizard
This was unusual. The lizard had a green band along its tale.

I feel like apologising for the size of this blog, as it contains over 70 photos. However, this is a lovely place if you like urban exploring, and I felt that if I cut down the picture count I couldn't do it justice. I appreciate that it might not be for everybody though, so the first page contains spoiler photos of what to expect. If you find them interesting, then continue to the main blog!Return to The Abandoned Ranch
The other day we saw an article about a mysterious church that had appeared in the Kouris Reservoir because of the low water level. When we got there it turned out to be a case of bad journalism. However, as we were in the area, we decided to revisit the abandoned Rancho Appaloosa, to see how much it had changed since we first found the place, in 2016.Asprokremmos Dam Revisited
The Asprokremmos Dam first started to overflow over a week ago. We filmed it at the time, but vowed to return once it had got into full swing...Good Pages To Visit
