Castle Closeup
And nothing is more photogenic than the castle itself.
The Castle in the 19th Century
This is the oldest picture I have of the castle, taken in 1887. It was quite isolated then.
Beyond The Castle
On the other side of the castle, you will find this lovely statue.
It is called Sol Alter, and was sculpted by Yiota Ioannidou.
The bronze statue represents a young girl staring at Petra tou Romiou, the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of Love and Beauty. She wishes to be just like her…
She must have jolly good eyesight, as Aphrodites Rock is a long way away.
Aphrodite's Castle?
It looks to me like she is staring at the castle.
Towards Chloraka
Beyond the statue, the coastal path follows the boundaries of the Archaeological Park towards the Lighthouse Beach.

After comments and photos started appearing on the forum about the erection of a raised walkway, we decided a visit was overdue. With no expectations of what we would see when we got there, other than a vague feeling of disappointment that despite what it looked like, they weren't building a roller coaster, this is what we found.Beyond Fabrica Hill
A few weeks ago we blogged about Fabrica Hill. We went to find out about the new walkway, and to see what was on the hill. The blog was very popular, but left people chomping at the bit for more. Why didn't you feature the amphitheatre? Where will the walkway end? Why are there never any hedgehogs in your blogs? Most of these questions were asked. So the other day, we went back to find the answers. Not only that, but we also found that most elusive of creatures, an artist's impression of what the walkway will look like when it is complete. So read on to find out...Good Pages To Visit
