Green Monday Kite Flying
Below Cape Drepanum
This group seemed intent only on having a good picnic. I can't see any children, so that might explain the lack of kites.
Above The Church
There was even a kite flying above the church.
Popular Spot
Yes, Agios Georgios was a very popular spot for kite flying and picnics. I had never seen it so crowded, not even in high summer.
Coral Bay
We drove back to Paphos, taking the coastal route, but saw nothing to match the scale of Agios Georgios. There were a few kites on the municipal beach near Aspire School, and a couple at Coral Bay Beach, but most of the action was to be had in the direction of the Akamas. Had it not been getting lated (for lunch at least), I would have driven to Geroskipou Beach and Mandria, to see what was happening there. I think by this time though, the troups were getting hungry, so we went for our own lunch instead.
Film Of The Day
So that was another Green Monday. it didn't rain, and lots of kites were flown. This is a short film I made of our kite flying experience. Hopy you like it, and enjoy what's left of the bank holiday!

Green Day Fun
Last year our attempts at flying a kite ended in failure. We wound up using it as a football. So this year we were determined to have more success. The Akamas By Car
Nothing beats exploring the Akamas by car. A decent 4x4 can take you to places you would never normally find on foot, and the aircon can be a real life-saver. Some routes into the Akamas are bumpier than others. In this blog take a relatively bump free route which would suite the more cautious amongst you.Good Pages To Visit
