Green Monday Kite Flying
Akamas View
We got about as far with the kite as we got last time, which is hardly surprising, as we went the same route. At least this time we weren't left with a big knot.
Mysterious Structure
When I first saw this picture I assumed Alex had taken a shine to the tree. And why not? It is a splendid tree, stood there in isolation, protecting the nearby shrubs from the marauding forest. But she was actually interested in the funny structure on the top of that distant hill.
Different Angle
You can see it more clearly here (a bit more, anyway). There was possibly a picnice bench near to it as well. It may be all part of the new features they are adding to the Akamas. I have to say though, that the roads still have a way to go. I was driving while Alex took the pictures, and the recent rains had made the route a very bumpy affair.
Passing Stream
Don't worry though. This wasn't the road, but a passing stream, on its way to the sea.
Signs Of Life
The road we were on brought us to the west of Lara Bay. We had to drive for a while before we came upon any signs of kite flying or barbecues. But they eventually appeared as we knew they would.

Green Day Fun
Last year our attempts at flying a kite ended in failure. We wound up using it as a football. So this year we were determined to have more success. The Akamas By Car
Nothing beats exploring the Akamas by car. A decent 4x4 can take you to places you would never normally find on foot, and the aircon can be a real life-saver. Some routes into the Akamas are bumpier than others. In this blog take a relatively bump free route which would suite the more cautious amongst you.Good Pages To Visit
