The view from where we have just come is spectacular.
The Gorge Gets Deeper
If you are walking, you will be pleased to know that there is a bench up here where you can stop for a break.
Gorge Crossing
Now we come to a mysterious bus stop. I say mysterious because I just can't imagine a bus ever driving down here. Perhaps long ago this road was more widely used and better looked after?
Probably not the best bus stop in the world.
You would have a long wait here for a bus.

From Ezousa Valley To The Sea (almost)

A short walk through the countryside around Kallepia
Now that we are getting the occasional dry day again we thought it time we started our selection of blogs on walks in and around the countryside of Paphos. For our first excursion we are visiting the village of Kallepia, situated near the Ezousa Valley and Minthis Hills Golf Course.
Ezousa Washout
On our numerous visits to the dam over the last few days, we have also taken the opportunity to explore the countryside between the Asprokremmos and Polemi. How had the rains affected the Ezousa Valley? Was one of our hidden picnic areas still intact? Could I even get from Ezousa to Kallepia, like I had done on a previous blog? Would I rescue some German tourists? The short answers are badly, ish, no and yes. For a more in-depth discussion, read on.
Kannaviou Countryside
You could be forgiven for thinking that the Ezousa Valley runs from the sea to Episkopi Village. But it continues through Letymbou all the way up to Kannaviou. And guess what? It's just as lovely up there.

As the Ezousa Valley winds through the Paphos Countryside, from Letymbou to Episkopi and beyond, another valley breaks off to the right, and heads to Kallepia. This short tour shows an old abandoned track, and the view of the valley beyond. We had often wondered what the track was.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
