Special Tree

From Evretou we would drive back past Skarfos Bridge, then up by Simou and cross country back to our beloved Polemi. But first, we had to drive past this beauty. For some reason it reminds me of the trees we got in England.

Skarfos Looking Good

We covered the newly-renovated Skarfos Bridge in a recent blog, but wanted to get a picture with the new camera. The light was fading but it still looked pretty special.

The Evretou Valley looks stunning at any time of year.

Distant Church

We will leave you here, looking across the valley at a distant church. In a future blog we will show you what that's like. In truth, there is not much to see, but it does have a nice little grotto behind it.

I'm not sure what blogs we will release it the coming weeks. We do have quite a collection of unpublished photographs to sort through, so you won't have to go long without your fix of Cyprus. Oh, and the Archaeological Park Tour is ready! I haven't finished the accompanying pages yet (home schooling and working from home need a bit of coordinating), and I still have to add some descriptive hotspots, but other than that, it is ready to go. Evretou Dam

Ever since we explored the abandoned villages of Evretou and Trimithousa, we have been meaning to return and have a look at the rest of the reservoir. A chance wrong turn gave us just the opportunity we needed, so off we went. It took us a few visits to get the full picture of the reservoir, but we saw some lovely scenery along the way...

The Evretou Grave

Last time we walked around Evretou Dam, we observed a solitary grave on the opposite bank, half way up a hill. After the blog was published we were approached by somebody who keeps a log of the Turkish Cypriot Graves on the island. He hadn't a record of this one, so I promised to revisit the area and get more information...

Skarfos Revisited

It's been quite some time since we visited Skarfos Bridge. One of the most accessible of the Venetian Bridges in the Paphos region, it is nevertheless off most people's radars. It has recently had a bit of a face-lift, so hopefully that will change. Skarfos Bridge is definitely open for business...

Abandoned Villages - Trimithousa

While doing some research for the blog on the Abandoned Village of Evretou, I read how the villagers fled to the nearby village of Trimithousa, before eventually settling in the North. From this I deduced that Trimithousa itself might also be abandoned. So I looked it up on Google Maps, and decided to check it out...
