Cyprus In Pictures - July 2024
Top End Of Sea Front

Early Evening

It is difficult getting pictures like this, purely because the light change so rapidly at this time of day. In a few minutes it will be dark. So you can't really walk along the entire length of the Sea Front and hope to get a series of shots with similar lighting. This is a shame, as I think the contrast here is lovely.

Modern Aphrodite

This statue has always looked to me like it depicts a drunk lady who's a bit worse for wear and is taking a break on the walk of shame. However, it actually shows Aphrodite. She is leaning that way as she is trying to look at Aphrodite's Rock in the far, far distance. Actually, given what I read about her while researching the Archaeological Site at Kouklia, she probably had more than her fair share of drunken evenings anyway...

This is looking towards Alykes Beach, at the changing area of the Municipal Baths.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
