Cyprus In Pictures - January 2024
Ottoman Baths, Old Town

This shot shows the ever-popular Caffe Nero and Ottoman Baths in the Old Town. In fact, it shows most of Old Town. You can see the Dolphin mural on the top right. To the left of there is the yellow bricks of Pumpkin House, followed by the New Bus Station. Ibrahim's Kahn barely is noticeable, which is hardly surprising given that it is covered mainly in shades. The market is on the left, with the mosque just out of picture. In the foreground you have the carpark and the aforementioned baths.

Blooming Flowers

One of the comments to this picture was "Are they going to put plants in the centre?"
Yes my friend, they are.
Polemi Terraces

I like this picture. It is a prime example of a familiar place looking absolutely fantastic from a different angle. If you have driven along the B7 from Stroumbi to Paphos you will have passed this scene on your right, just after the petrol station. It is easy to miss, as the road is winding and you have more important things to concentrate on. But if you were a bird, or climbed to the top of the nearby Polemi Mountain, then this is the view that awaits you.
Corallia Beach

Another beach worth visiting even in January is Corallia Beach, also in Coral Bay. If you take the bus from Paphos it terminates in the carpark here. And yes, there were a couple of swimmers about!
Pomos Harbour Again!

I will leave you with a more recognisable shot of Pomos Harbour. If you haven't yet visited here on your travels, then make it a priority. The drive from Polis is lovely and the whole area is stunning. For more information, check out our 4th Road Trip eBook available on Amazon.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
