Clueless Cupid
Pant Man
This, however, is the star attraction. Pant Man has been fascinating me since I first spotted him over a year ago. After far too much research I actually found a document which had some commentary on the sculptures here. The link has long since vanished, but I do remember reading that this was supposed to be Cupid. This is fair enough, with the bow and all, but there was no explanation for the pants and the question mark. It is all left to your own imagination.
Nuclear Family
Still no idea about that one. Both statues are female though.
Cupid On Point
So does anybody know anything more about this work?
While I was here, I thought I would have a look around the area. There were signs that somebody had been sheltering in those rocks for a few days, which is an unusual sight for Paphos. Bear in mind though, that I took these shots a few months ago, so if you want to go and give a homeless person a Christmas Meal you should check first to see if anybody actually resides there.
Other than that, there is a nice stream here, if you like that sort of thing. The best time to visit though, is in the Spring Time. The area is awash with strange, yellow fruit then, from these trees. From memory, they were about the size of grapefruit, and looked a bit like severely pock-marked apples.
Final Shot
One last look at Cupid. Ok, compared to the Art Nest, which we featured last month, the Ayia Napa Sculpture Park, and even Geroskipou Park, this park is small by comparison. However, if you have five minutes to spare, it is worth a little look.
