Cyprus In Pictures - April 2023
Harbour Scene

The harbour is really taking shape now. For more information read our latest Paphos Seafront Update.

Motorway Roundabout

This roundabout is the first thing that many visitors see on arriving in Paphos. It looks even better at night.
Archaeological Park View

You need special permission to fly your drone at the Archaeological Park. This is something we are in the process of trying to obtain. Until then, you will have to be content with shots like this, taken from the Harbour Car Park. In this shot you can see 40 Column Fortress in the foreground, which is well worth exploring. In the distance is the Light House, and just before that the theatre. To the right is the Toumpallos Area and finally the mosaics are on the left.
Hidden Gems

As well as the Archaeological Park and Tomb of the Kings, there are a number of ancient relics dotted around Paphos. This one is Vasiliko necropolis. You can find it just behind the Electricity Building, near the Motorway Roundabout. If you look carefully you can see the sun reflecting off my slaphead in the bottom right.
Harbour View

This gives you a nice view of most of the harbour. It is tricky flying a drone here though, owing to the presence of territorial seagulls.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
