The Akamas Visitor Centre in Kathikas
There were numerous birds on display, which will please the twitchers amongst you.
An Owl
I do like owls. A few years ago I had a shock walking along the top of an ancient water mill. I reached the end and went to look into the depths of the building, only to have a huge owl fly out and straight past me. It would have been quite a drop had I fallen off. Fortunately this owl showed no sign of moving.
Big Lizard
Cyprus also has an abundance of lizards. It's weird. I hate big spiders and most snakes, but don't have any issue at all with lizards. Unfortunately for the lizards that inhabit our garden, we have four cats, who see them as target practice.
There was also a skink on display, which is much less common.
Nice Surprise
The Countryside area leads on to a woodland section. A nice touch here were the drawers that lined the wall. You could open these up for some more exhibits.
