Foinikas Heights
This was one of my favourite excursions. I had long been fascinated by the curious outcrop of rock you can see in the hills behind the abandoned village of Foinikas, so in June I decided to have a little hike. It just goes to show that you don't need to go to the Akamas or Troodos to have a decent yomp in the hills.
Kelefos Bridge
Cyprus is famous for its Venetian Bridges, and over the years we will be visiting them all. Kelefos Bridge is probably the most famous, but we also took time to explore the nature trail beyond it. If you visit the bridge, it is worth taking the small hike too. You will not be disappointed...
Statos
Statos is a village which was abandoned due to adverse weather conditions. We visited it when we were making our first book on Cyprus. It deserved a blog of its own though, too.
Road Trip #01
The book we published was called Paphos Road Trip 01. As the name implies, there will be more to follow. It is available as an ebook to buy on Amazon. You can also view the blog version using the link below. If you buy the eBook, you won't need internet access to read it, so it is well worth shelling out £2.50 for.
Agios Fotios
Agios Fotios was abandoned for the same reason that Statos was. We explored that too, where we met this charming fellow who acted as our guide. The two villages formed a new village at the top of the hill, which today is thriving. We shall visit there later in this blog...
