Where The Locals Go

Beach View

This is a view from the beach towards Ttakkas. There is plenty of space here.

Thalassa View

And this is the view in the other direction. The beach here is sandy. It is fairly coarse sand, and I am not sure it would make decent sandcastle material. However, it definitely cannot be described as shingle or gravel.

Towards the end of the bay you step into a bit of luxury. It is my understanding that those sunbeds should be available to anybody for €2.50 a pop, as they are on a public beach. However, I am not fully conversant with the law and may well be wrong, so don't be surprised if you visit here and are politely declined a bed. Alternatively, they might expect you to buy a drink at the bar. Basically, you will need to find out for yourself, or bring your own.

Oh and there is also a watersports centre here.

Aphrodite's Bay ends here. After this, you will be hitting the beaches around Latsi.

Grand Hotel

Have to say, the Anassa Hotel looks lovely. Has anybody stayed here? It is in am amazing location and certainly worth considering if you can tear yourself away from Paphos City.

Anyway, now you know where a lot of the locals go in August. You can also find them on the beaches of Kato Pyrgos. Perhaps we should have a trip up there over the next few days. You will like that too...

The Polis Coast

I recently went for a walk along the Polis Coast. It was supposed to be a drone flight, but I managed to leave the drone at home, so instead I visited some of the beaches and took some suitably scenic pictures. Enjoy the beauty that is the Polis Coastline on a glorious Spring morning.

Polis Beaches Part 1

We've already had a look at how the beaches and restaurants of Paphos and Ayia Napa are coping with the new norms of social distancing. It is time to turn our attention to the Polis coast, and take a look at what the situation is there. In Part 1 we go from Aphrodite's Baths to Polis.

Polis Beaches Part 2

In this report we originally planned on showing you the beaches from Kato Pyrgos to Polis. However, there were so many that we have had to split it in two, so join us as we travel from Kato Pyrgos to the outskirts of Pomos. In our next blog we will continue the journey to Polis.

Polis Beaches Part 3

In the final part of our look at the beaches along the north coast of Paphos, we travel from Pomos to Polis, finishing up with a slap-up meal at our favourite kebab joint. If you want quieter beaches in beautiful surroundings, then this area will not disappoint. We visited these beaches more times than was strictly necessary to make this blog, which shows that we have saved what we consider to be some of the best Paphos beaches to last.
