Where The Locals Go
Paphos is blessed with many beaches, on both its southern and nothern coasts. In the second half of August, the locals down tools and embark on their own holidays. But where do they go? I guess some must join the tourists, and head for the likes of Coral Bay and Venus Beach. But lots more head to the North Coast, and travel past Latchi to the remoter beaches away from the tourists' gaze. Let's see what they get up to...
Aphrodite's Coastline

Earlier in the year I wrote an article about the North Paphos Coast. This is basically retracing some of those steps, with the benefit of a drone. The only difference is that over six months have passed, and the holiday season is now in full swing.
This is the view from Aphrodite's Restaurant, by Aphrodite's Baths. We shall be following the coast towards Latsi.
There will also be a film of this, published later. When it is live I will add a link here.
Towards The Dog Beach

Driving from Aphrodite's Baths, my first port of call was supposed to be the Dog Beach. Unfortunately, that is only signposted from the direction of Latsi, so I took a guess but picked the wrong route. This led me to a track which I think leads all the way back to the restaurant.
No More Empty Spaces

However, I followed it in the opposite direction, and it soon leads to this little cove.
While I am here, if you want a bit of help exploring the North Coast of Paphos, check out our Road Trip eBooks available on Amazon. Books 2, 3 and 4 will be right up your street.
Bohemian Rhapsody

The beach is covered in gazebos. Each spot will probably be taken for a week or two.
Dinner Is Served

Naturally enough, bbqs were also out in force. The smell of souvlaki and other cooked wonders was heavy in the air.

The Polis Coast
I recently went for a walk along the Polis Coast. It was supposed to be a drone flight, but I managed to leave the drone at home, so instead I visited some of the beaches and took some suitably scenic pictures. Enjoy the beauty that is the Polis Coastline on a glorious Spring morning.
Polis Beaches Part 1
We've already had a look at how the beaches and restaurants of Paphos and Ayia Napa are coping with the new norms of social distancing. It is time to turn our attention to the Polis coast, and take a look at what the situation is there. In Part 1 we go from Aphrodite's Baths to Polis.
Polis Beaches Part 2
In this report we originally planned on showing you the beaches from Kato Pyrgos to Polis. However, there were so many that we have had to split it in two, so join us as we travel from Kato Pyrgos to the outskirts of Pomos. In our next blog we will continue the journey to Polis.
Polis Beaches Part 3
In the final part of our look at the beaches along the north coast of Paphos, we travel from Pomos to Polis, finishing up with a slap-up meal at our favourite kebab joint. If you want quieter beaches in beautiful surroundings, then this area will not disappoint. We visited these beaches more times than was strictly necessary to make this blog, which shows that we have saved what we consider to be some of the best Paphos beaches to last.Good Pages To Visit

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
