Ayia Napa Is Gearing Up!
More Notices
As we said, most of the bathers had parked themselves near the beach bar. So how was social distancing handled there? The good news is that it was definitely being observed, as this sign indicates. Now, I have no idea what the place will be like during the weekend, and whether the signs will be ignored or not. However, if you go there, and it looks too crowded for your liking, just turn around and go somewhere quieter.
Waiting For You
Let's face it. You will rarely see Cyprus this empty during the sunny season. And the good news about that is that there is less traffic, and less fighting for a parking space near the beach.
Towards Ayia Napa
For the rest of the blog, we shall make our way around the coast up to Paralimni, stopping at some of the beaches along the way. We also visited the sculpture park and numerous sights, but we will cover them in another blog. This is all about the beaches.
Sandy Bay
Just up from Nissi is Sandy Bay Beach. It was very quiet indeed here.
Social Distancing
The same social distancing rules have been applied. The beaches in the East of the Island are consistently sandy. There are some sandy beaches in the Paphos region, but there are a lot of pebbly beaches too. Also, the water seems a lot calmer here, especially when you go the north side of Cape Greco.
