Vretsia Tavern
We recently did a blog on the abandoned village Vretsia. Until recently, a tavern still operated there. Unfortunately, last summer it appears to have burnt down. It is now a very eerie place to visit...
Approaching From The Side...
We have visited Vretsia a number of times over the years, as it is a gateway to Paphos Forest. The trip from here to Pera Vesa is great fun. We had always known that there was a tavern here, but as we like picnics, had never bothered to visit. Well, when we came to shoot some pictures for our recent blog on Vretsia I thought I would put that to right and pop in to the tavern. As I approached from the side, I didn't really register that anything was wrong.
From The Back
However, I caught a glimpse of the back, and it soon became apparent that not all was well.
The View In From The Back
It seems the tavern was ravaged by a terrible fire. Broken plates litter the floor and the machinery is in ruins.
Devastation
Walking into the main corridor, it soon became apparent that no room had been spared.
Burnt Sunbeds
This room appeared to have housed lots of sunbeds.
