The Abandoned Village of Theletra - Part 2
More Hooch

So far, we have found no way past the building.

A Gap Beckons

However, a whole in the wall suggests a way forward, so this is the way we shall go.
Fig Pimple Alert

From here on in, the vegetation is everywhere. None of it had thorns though, so it was simply a case of making my way through the branches.
Now, some of the trees here were figs, and I have an issue with fig trees. Just after we moved to Cyprus, I decided to chop down one of our fig trees. It was a hot day, so I did this using my chainsaw and wearing only my swimming trunks. After a while spent chopping the leaves off the branches, I noticed I was getting a prickly feeling all over my chest. So I stopped what I was doing and jumped into the pool. After that the procedure would start again.
Any Old Urn

This process repeated until I had removed all the leaves from the branches leaving me with lots of twigs for future kindling. However, I noticed that I was getting blister-like pimples in odd places. Nothing kinky, but they were appearing on my eye-lid and neck; places which would normally remain blemish-free.
We drove down to Paphos and I went to see a chemist. By now I had quite a lot of fig pimples, and the chemist immediately gave me some pills which they seemed to set aside for anybody arriving in my condition.
They died down in a day or two, but ever since then, every time I touch a fig leaf or go near a fig, my skin starts getting a bit agitated.
This Way

So crawling through a load of trees, some of which were figs, is not a task I undertook lightly. It was good fun exploring though, and that trumped my allergy.
