Moundiko Nature Trail - Part 2
Coast View

Let's have one last look towards the coast (Agios Georgios is that way) before heading for home.

Gorges Everywhere

In truth, there are a lot of gorges up here. Most of them are highly inaccessible though. I have avoided writing about Avakas Gorge so far, because when I started Paphos Life I wanted to feature the more unusual aspects of Cyprus. That's all well and good, but as the site has grown over the years I think not having information on places like Avakas, or Tomb of the Kings, for that matter, is a shame. So I shall have to rectify that in the near future, and definitely before it gets too warm!
Pick Your Own Route

I don't think the official trail takes you to the edge of the plateau. It is impossible to tell, because there haven't been any signs for quite some time. But it is fairly easy making your way back up the hill towards the start.
Back On Track?

I think this bit was part of the official trail, but I had no way of knowing for sure.
Akamas Football Club

Now this was a surprise. I followed the trail and all of a sudden I found myself in a large field of short grass. Erect a couple of goalposts and you have a decent football pitch!

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
