Friendly Fauna

The goat trails we mentioned earlier were - naturally enough - made by goats. They are quite common in the area, and you will normally hear them long before you see them. This will either be because they have a bell around their neck, or because of their bleating.

Autumnal Scenery

The widening gorge floor means you have more potential routes to choose. You should try and keep as close to the water as you can though, to ensure you aren't following a goat trail.

The nearby deciduous trees provided a carpet of chestnut-brown leaves to emphasise the time of year. I imagine in Spring there must be an abundance of flowers here providing a completely different spectacle.

Clear Pools

Rather puzzlingly the stream would be appear to dry up on occasion, where presumably it had found a hidden route below ground. At other places it would be in full flow, and have pools providing convenient breeding grounds for the local snail population.
