Cyprus Roadtrips 3 and 4
Kato Pyrgos Coastline

At the start of Kato Pyrgos is a harbour and a sandy beach. Beyond that the beaches get pebbly.

Central Kato Pyrgos

There are a number of shaded taverns on Kato Pyrgos High Street where you can get food or a drink. It is lovely here.
Kato Pyrgos Church

The main church is normally locked, but if it is open it is worth popping in.
Medieval Fort

Kato Pyrgos also has its own ancient fort, which was used as a watchtower. Earlier I mentioned that COVID had delayed these roadtrips. As a result of this, some of the pictures used were taken a couple of years ago. Because of this, we retraced the route of the road trips a week ago, to check they were still valid. The only issue we found was that the road leading to this fort is closed at the moment, because they are pipe laying. As it is only temporary, and may have been completed by the time you read this, I have not bothered correcting the guide.
Grape Beach

This is the final beach you can visit before you arrive at the illegally occupied area of Cyprus, which we will not be entering. From here, the Road Trip will go inland to Pano Pyrgos before returning to the coast. So later on you will get another chance of a swim at one of the beaches in Kato Pyrgos.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
