Distant Storms
As you can see, the storms were still continuing. It's a bit of a waste really, to rain on sea though. Given all the effort the water molecules made to rise up from the oceans in the first place, it seems a bit pointless to plummet back down to the waters before you are able to give anybody a good soaking. That storm is full of under-achieving rain-drops.
Back To The Harbour
Meanwhile, looking back at the harbour, we didn't see any wrecked ships, so presumably it did its job. There used to be a harbour wall that ran by the main road, but apparently it was removed at the behest of the previous mayor, who then went on to do a stint in jail. Had that wall still been intact then a lot of the debris washed over the road would have been stopped. That's not why the old mayor ended up in the clink though!

We are now following the course of our Second Cyprus Road Trip. This is worth buying if you want to explore Paphos in your hire car and fancy some pointers. As you can see, the storm is showing no sign of abating. The beach bar is to the left of this shot.
Closed For Winter
I think they are shut at the moment though. Fair play to them, every year the place seems to be more and more popular.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
