Ezousa Washout
How Deep?
As I was inspecting the river, I heard voices. Since the picnic area, I hadn't seen anybody, so I was surprised to see a couple of walkers appear on the other side of the river. They had removed their walking boots, and were crossing the river in front of me. I was able to see how deep the water was (too deep to drive through) and when they reached me I asked them if they wanted a lift. It turns out they were a German couple who had walked the nature trail from Episkopi (this was the alternate route I mentioned before) and had basically run out of path.
I explained that the route they were about to undertake was very, very muddy, and the eagerly accepted my offer of a lift. The route back through the mud was trickier this time, but we got through, after which I dropped them off again, as they wanted to continue their walk back to Episkopi.
But how lucky were they? The chances of them meeting somebody there were incredibly slim, but as luck would have it, they appeared when I needed them, and I appeared when they needed me. Symbiosis in action.
Evening Clouds
Later the same day, I was returning to Polemi with Alex, and we happened to drive down from Nata again.
There was a glorious sunset, and we took some lovely cloud shots.
Somebody posted some more shots of the sunset on our Facebook Chat Group. However, their snaps included a very full Asprokremmos Reservoir, which looked magestic. You can find them on the chat pages, they are well worth tracking down.
