The Camel Trail Venetian Bridges
Flattened Land
The trail only runs a few metres higher than the track I walked up on, but you can see the damage caused far more clearly from here. At the foreground you can see the puddle I waded through too.
Back To The Trail
Eventuallhy, the two trails do meet up again. Not here though. You have to walk to the water mill first.
Not a bad mill. I've seen better but it is more interesting than first glances suggested.
Trail End
So if you want to visit the bridge, and are coming from this direction, take the path to the left of the mill.
Going Up
I managed to drive back up here, but it was heavy going. At this point I was half way up the fire break, and I decided to continue straight on up it. Having driven up this, the firebreak was no challenge.
So that was Roudia. Before we managed to reach Roudia, we visited Kelefos and Elia. To get there we went via the Asprokremmos Dam, and up through Dora. We chose Dora because it was high up and avoided crossing valleys.

Now that we have covered the route from Vretsia to Kelefos, let's return to the subject of Venetian Bridges. This time, we will feature Roudia Bridge. So let's take a look at the bridge itself...Kelefos Bridge
Kelefos Bridge is probably the most well-known of all the Venetian Bridges in Cyprus, for good reasons. It features on the UK TV holiday adverts for Cyprus, showing a couple cycling over it on an afternoon ride. In reality, you won't find any cyclists here, but you will find a bridge full of charm, and surrounding countryside to match...Elia Bridge
Like its more famous neighbour, Elia Bridge spans the Diarizos River in the south western corner of Paphos Forest. Along with Roudia and Kelefos, it forms the Venetian Bridges Nature Trail, which is a lovely route, even if you do opt to drive, rather than hike it's distance. Let's take a quick peek...Good Pages To Visit
