A Blustery Day At Limni Pier
More Long Exposures

The long exposures look quite spooky. You could imagine a monster approaching through that mist...

Real Time

For comparison, this is what a regular-exposure shot of the scene looks like.
Towards Polis Campsite

If you walk along the beach in this direction you will eventually arrive at Polis Camp Site. My body boarding accident happened just down there. Also, if you want to know what happened to the railway that ran down the pier, it now lies in the sea about a quarter of a mile from the pier. I found it a few years ago. You cannot see it, unless the water is very, very calm, but you can feel it with your feet. I posted a film of it a few years ago. I will try and add a link at the foot of the blog.
The Blustery Day Film
And speaking of films, this was what I recorded last sunday. There was actually a lot more footage, but I wasn't happy with it. I experimented with slomo footage of the waves, but you really have to be close to them to get the effect.
Anyway, Limni Pier can be found on the coast, to the east of Polis. If you take the coast road you will drive past it before you hit Argaka. We will feature it in our next road trip eBook which we are currently writing. So keep a look out for that!

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
