Below The Roof

This is the roof we walked on a minute ago. The main feature of the tourist attraction would be in there, I imagine, so let's take a look.

Ancient Mill

It looks like the building was built to protect an older building, if that makes sense. A closer inspection revealed that there had indeed been some form of mill here in the past. It seems weird that the second building is now itself a ruin though.

Batty Friend

In the top right of this picture you can just see a small bat which had made the ruin its home.

Interesting Rocks

There were lots of interesting pools and rocks around the old mill. One thing I ddin't see though was lots of dates and initials. Normally, any water source in Cyprus seems to get inspected regular, and sprayed for insects. The inspectors mark their visits - annoyingly - by initialling a rock and writing a date. This is a shame as it makes the place look like it is covered with graffiti. I do wish they would advance to the 21st century and record their logs digitally.

More Investigation Needed

Anyway, it is clear that this gorge still has plenty of secrets. I shall not follow the water downstream though until I am better equipped. Besides I still haven't visited that church...
