Evretou used to be a Turkish Cypriot village but was abandoned during the troubles. This blog isn't really about the village. For more information you should check out the links at the bottom of this page.

When there is no rubbish around, it is a beautiful, yet somewhat eerie and poignant place to visit, as are all the old abandoned villages in Cyprus.

I just don't understand why fishermen dump so much rubbish here. There really is no need for it. You brought it out here, take it back with you!

If You Make Your Bed, Lie In It

These days, people go fishing to get out in the countryside and relax. But why do they have to leave all their rubbish behind? It just means that the next time they go fishing they will be surrounded by crap.

And I know it is fishermen, because as well as all the beer bottles and cans, there are empty tins of sweetcorn, which are presumably used as bait.
